Window Seat is Almost Done...Take a Look!

I'm sorry I've been missing in action a lot lately....I'm having terrible computer issues! :-/  I usually use Live Writer to write all my blog posts, but it won't even let me on without a mandatory update, but it won't update either.  I'm having to write this post through blogger, and let me tell you it takes about 20 times longer to do anything on here!  If anyone knows the fix for updating live writer please let me know...I just keeping getting errors! UGH!

Okay...now on to the window seat! :)  Ya'll know how my dining room started...VERY formal!

Then I got these from the old 1916 house that was on our church property....it was torn down last year, and that's where this project started!

Then we were at this point....

Here's where I am today....

The shelf is just a long board thats 12" wide...I laid it across the top of the two end cabinets, and put L-brackets along the back edge on top, into the studs in the wall. I put the L-brackets on the top, so you wouldn't be able to see them, then I'll paint them out with the wall color once the room is painted. I'll be installing some wainscoting 2/3rd of the way up before I do any painting though.
The arch was just a very long, wide board that I cut an arch into and put a piece of very flexible screen molding on the bottom, to cover the raw edge. I put it up with L-brackets under the shelf it sits in front of. . I also put a piece of trim at the top of the arch that extends over onto the cabinets for a more finished look.

I built two little boxes to set on top of each of the cabinets (see above) to take up the space between the cabinets and bulkhead. I'll be putting up crown molding there so it'll have a nice transition from the cabinet to the bulkhead.

Next post I'll show you some of the sewing I've been doing.  This has been a long project, but I think it's going to really be worth it when it's all done. It's already my favorite new place to sit in the house! :)

Until then, this where we are. :)  OH, see that fountain sitting on the window seat?  It was a Mother's Day gift from my honey...I FINALLY got it hung up outside above my little bench on the front patio, it's been sitting on the window seat for a while! lol  I have also taken down those curtains you see below too.  Boy oh boy do I have a TON of fabric right now, just waiting to become pillows, curtains and more.  Those curtains in the picture are long GONE!

See you guys soon!  Please say a prayer I figure out what's going on with window live writer...this blogger posting is for the birds!

Blessings and hugs!
