this week it's with Sarah, at Thrifty Decor Chick!

It just so happens it falls on our weekly
Treaasures and Trinkets Thursday, so link up something you love,
Grab a button and have some fun!

Here's our tree in the living room...

Here are a few of my favorite ornaments...

LOVE these!

This little church was my mom's ornament when
she was a little girl...it's made of a rough paper...
kinda feels like sandpaper.
:)

One of my friends had her mom make me
this when I was a little girl...she trimmed it
with gold.
Thanks Rae Jean! :)

I found these ballerinas at the
Dollar Store for a buck each..
I think I bought 15 or 20.

This ornament remind us all of the
reason for the season...
Jesus' birth!

This ornament was on our tree when I was little..
mom got them 6/$1.00!

My middle son Lincoln, made this for me when he was 9.

I put a bunch of these beaded fruit sprays on our tree
to make it a little more full and to add some sparkle!

I just LOVE these...
my little boy says it reminds him of a stop light!
LOL

This is our newest ornament....
our first grandbaby!
Logan Christian...

Village Vignette

Hello my friends!
I'm joining in the Christmas Vignette linky party today with
So instead of my usual Treasures and Trinkets linky
party here this week, go link up your favorite Christmas vignette with Rhoda!
(we'll resume Treasures and Trinkets Thursday here next week)

I'm showing you guys my FAVORITE Christmas vignette today
and it's my
Christmas Village!
I put my village on my hoosier cabinet each year,
it's the perfect spot!

The house below is the one that started it all...
my little brother bought it for me, then my mom and I added to it
the collection too!
:)

This is my skating pond, the little people actually skate around
the pond as Christmas music plays.
I placed the little gazebo in the middle and luckily the skaters
don't run into it. :)

The pond makes the whole village because of all the movement and music.
Can you see Mr Snowman peeking through the gazebo?

What village is complete without a train station?...
looks like Santa caught a ride back to the North Pole on this train!~

I LOVE how all the lights are on inside the houses...
looks like it might be warm and cozy inside!

The little carolers look so festive in their
Christmas attire!

Here's the centerpiece of my village....
the reason for the season.
I wish I had a nativity scene to go in front of my church!
(but the little boy sledding is cute too!)

Looks like a blizzard hit the hotel!
LOL
I didn't realize the snow was this high until after I took the picture!
You can't even see the front door! :)

I'd love to go on a sleigh ride, but
we don't usually have enough snow...
nor do I have a team of horses and a sleigh!

The next two pictures REALLY
makes me want to go ice skating!

I found the little arbor that lights up after Christmas last year
for 50% off, I was a happy girl!

I use books to get all the different
levels for the houses...
gives it a more realistic feel!

One last looks at my village...
I just love it!

Hope you enjoyed my Village Vignette!
Don't forget to link up one of your favorite Christmas
Vignettes at Rhoda's!

Mantel Mania....Christmas Style! Linky Party fun!

Hey guys!
I'll be linking up with the following ladies on different
Christmas themed linky parties Nov 30- Dec 9th!

Today's linky party is Christmas Mantels with Layla over
so lets start!

(and before you scold my spelling of mantel, it's proper to spell it both ways, I looked it up! lol)

I took this first picture after stripping off all my fall decorations, so it's VERY nakie!

For my Christmas Mantel, I pulled out the set
of cloches with stands my mom made for me...
for directions on how they were made, go here.

You can see it's pretty, but it's plain....

Sooo.......

I filled them with gold toned ornaments!
I just turned the cloche upside down,
filled it with ornaments and put the base on it
and then carefully flipped it over...
walla!

Next on the mantel, I laid out a bed of green garland with lights first,
then layered in the cloches, large candle sticks with burgandy candles
that picks up on the mat color and also the color of the
poinsettias I placed in the garland.

As you can see, I also nestled in some burgandy colored beaded picks, and
glitter dipped pine cones....
they add some depth and also pick up on the cranberry color again.

To give the mantel a little sparkle, I added some
glitter covered gold ornaments along with some shiny gold ornaments in
different sizes to give it a little more interest.

When the lights are on, the mantel sparkles in the twinkling lights...
SO festive!

One last look and I hope you'll go to
The Lettered Cottage and
link up your Christmas Mantel too!

Have a great week!
