Making Your Entry Inviting for Fall!

scarecrow for fall

Hey ya’ll!  First let me say thank you for all the sweet comments you left on my last post on “how to upholster chairs”…you guys are too sweet!!  I’m still waffling on a couple of things about them, but I’ll save that for another post, cause I want your opinions. :0)

Sorry I haven’t posted in a bit, but my life is literally not my own these days.  Do you ever feel like that? I wouldn’t know what to do to have a day where my house and laundry was all caught up and I could do whatever I wanted.  Do those days exist?

I digress…

I wanted to share some of my fall pics with you, I decorated a couple of weeks ago, but am just now getting around to loading the pics and showing you what I did.  (see, I told you I don’t have five minutes! lol)

How to decorate for fall

We have the sweetest couple in our church that raise corn and they bring me corn stalks.  For two years in a row, I’ve come home to corn stalks on my front lawn.  Don’t you just love and appreciate people like that?! :0)    I made fodder shocks out of the corn husks to go on either side of my door, I just love them! (and they provide a little privacy by covering up my side-light windows!)

Then I brought out this little lady……

nope

I’ve had her for a while and I love everything about her…from her burlap hat….

to her worn out buttons….

I just think she’s sweet, and she stands by our door as proud as a peacock, welcoming each guest that comes to our home. (and she always has a smile!)  lol

Then there’s this little fella…

I put him out by my bench, to guard over our pumpkin…he’s pretty cute..if I do say so myself. :0)

Of course we have to have some lovely flowers to adorn each side of the door too….what’s any season without flowers!|

Aren’t they just lovely?!…

oohh pretty

I even like the look and texture of the corn tassels!

I’ll leave you with a few more shots of the front of the house, all decked out for fall! (and a few more pics taken with my macro lens…I just love close up fun shots!)

Everything looks so inviting and warm. One time we gathered some corn from the field and made big corn shocks for the house. They froze in place during a storm and when the cows got out, they moseyed right up to the house and started munching away! It looked so funny and I had to wait until a spring thaw to get rid of them.

Love the flowers, as always!♥♫

Very cute, Missy, and looks like you're doing a great job with your new camera. Good to hear from you. I was wondering about you. You'll get a nice break sometime soon, I'm sure. Have a good week!

Very "fallish!" Bootiful! :) Makes mine look very plain. Love your close up shots.
Have a blessed autumn - it's about to get cooler in Texas...at least we are praying so (and hopefully with some rain)
Blessings,
Ava

Happy Fall Missy! You have been a little quiet of late....sometimes life is just like that. I am enjoying these last waning days of color and sunshine. I think the chilly nights are starting to take it's toll on my mums. Your porch looks just delightful!~Hugs, Patti

Wondering where you've been...life does have a habit of 'getting in the way', doesn't it? LOL.
Love your macro shots...you're really getting the hang of it. I need to practice my close up shots more. I've just been doing alot of point and shoot photos and that can be somewhat boring :)

Missy,

Love your "doorman"! Your cottage charm extends a warm fall welcome to all trick or treaters. Hope you get a chance to slow down and smell the chrysanthemums. I've been mia due to illness.

Your Friend,
Deborah

Missy, everything looks great! Your home looks so pretty for Fall. This is my favorite time of year and it finally turned off cold today. I was so excited. After work I could not wait to get home and make homemade vegetable soup and frenchbread. Love this weather. I love all of your pictures too. That new camera of yours takes some great ones!

Hugs,
Lee Laurie
