It’s that time again…..Treasures and Trinkets Linky Party! Link up something you love and link back to my blog….that’s it! Now have some fun! I KNOW, SO easy!
I have so much to show you guys! My son’s Mario party went great and he had such a wonderful time! I thought I’d show you some of the fun things we did over the next couple of days and give you some ideas you could use to have a Mario party of your own.
Let’s do a tutorial to make these adorable Mario mushroom cupcakes! I saw this on pinterest somewhere, but can't find who to give credit to...if you know, let me know!
First I started with some yummy double fudge cupcakes….
Then I bought these little flower pots from the Dollar Tree. I also picked up some lollipop sticks.
I have to say, I had so much going on, I decided to cheat and use a canned icing. I don't really like the taste of this stuff, but 10-12 year old boys could care less, so I went with it!
I used a Wilton gel food coloring to color the icing green…..
This is the nice green color my icing ended up being.
I used an icing bag and piped the green icing onto my double fudge cupcakes…
I bought some brownie bites from Walmart for the mushroom tops….
See, they have the perfect little mushroom shape…
Next, I took some large sized marshmallows………
and used this food grade marker….
to do this………….
Next, you take the marshmallow heads and push them down on your lollipop sticks….leave a little piece of the stick poking out the top, like this…..
This is where you will stick the brownie top on……
Ain’t he cute?!
I used some white icing in a piping bag…..
to add the spots on the mushroom head, like this………….
Now you take your little flower pots…
Stick two marshmallows in the bottom of each pot to help raise your cupcakes up to the top. (this only shows one marshmallow, but put two side by side or your cupcake will wobble)
Place your cupcakes inside your little flower pots….
Then you stick your lollipop down in your cupcake….
This is what you’ll end up with….
I only made 10 of the flower pot mushroom cupcakes, the rest I did the following to……….
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial on the Mario Mushroom cupcakes!
Have a great day!
HUGS!

It’s time for my weekly Treasures and Trinkets Linky Party! :o) Just link up something you love, a treasure of yours, or a project you’ve been working on….anything goes! If you know how, I’d love it if you’d link back to my page. Thanks!
Okay, now for one of my little birthday projects~ I thought I’d share how I made these birthday party hats for my son’s Mario and Luigi party. I’ll show you the whole party in another post..boy oh boy, was it fun~!
I actually found these brightly colored visors on Amazon.com from a company called Gravity Trading for $3.99 each. The company was wonderful to work with and I’d buy from them again! Very nice people! I ordered 3 red and 3 green visors for my son’s party.
To get the M’s and L’s on the hats, I turned to my cricut expression. I found a font that matched what I was looking for, then added a circle around it. I cut it out using my cricut and this is what I got……
If you don’t have a cricut, you could just buy some vinyl stick on letters, use iron on letters, or even spray paint them on with a stencil. (you could even hand cut them….shouldn’t be too hard.)
I just added the vinyl cut outs to the hats and I think they turned out really cute!
The boys at the party loved them..in fact, they wore them to church the day after the party too! How funny!
Stay tuned for more Mario and Luigi party fun!

I had to share what my beautiful friend Patty, from Sewing Seeds, did for my Sweet Pea. First, let me say, that Patty is one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to get acquainted with…I can’t say meet, cause we’ve never gotten to meet each other. She has a gentle, loving heart and is uber talented with a sewing machine!
She made my little Sweet Pea, who is now FOUR months old, the most beautiful baby quilt from her stash of vintage sheets. It is so colorful and lovely, sweet pea can’t take her eyes off the colors! (except long enough to let her Nana take some pics of her!)
I thought I’d share some of those pictures, so everyone could see what a wonderful treasure Patty sent to us.
Aren’t the colors just gorgeous! This is Sweet Pea’s, “yes, I know I’m beautiful” look. lol
I think this is my favorite Sweet Pea pic yet…she just looks so innocent and sweet…..and happy!
I call this her Gerber Baby shot….
This is what she does when she’s SUPER excited about something…she arches her back, gets all stiff and makes “THAT” face. LOL Can you tell she’s very excited about her new quilt?!
So, thank you Patty for your kindness and for taking time out of your busy schedule to brighten my day! (and Sweet Pea thanks you too!)
Hope you enjoyed seeing the lovely quilt….it’s so good to have such special bloggy friends as all of you…we’ve received multiple gifts for Sweet Pea and it just overwhelms me how kind all of you are!
LOVE YOU!

Today is Treasures and Trinkets Thursday, so link up something you love, something you’ve made or anything that makes you smile. If you know how, I’d appreciate a link back to my blog. (if you don’t know how, I won’t delete you…that would just be mean) That’s it…easy peasy!
I LOVE to make pretty cards and just wanted to share the latest ones I’ve made. The little words and some of the embellishments were from a kit I had a while back, I wish I knew where you could just buy the sentiments like the “To Someone Special” etc. It would make card making so much easier!
Since I can’t mail each and everyone of you a card, I decided to give you ALL this next card…..”thinking of you”…that’s what I do all the time, I think of all of you. You guys have become more than just blogging acquaintances, or readers…you’ve become my friends and I do think of you all the time! So here ya go….
I like this black and white one…just that little punch of color from the rose makes it look so special! :)
I sent this next one to Layla after receiving a lovely gift from her through the mail…thank you again Layla, I heart YOU! (and I LOVE my little teapot!)
This last card is a very special one! I made it for my hubby for Valentines Day, which is also our anniversary….we’ve had 26 wonderful years together! (and counting!)

My little man is turning 10 on the 30th! (sniff, sniff…sob…sob!!!)
Oh where does the time go?!!
He asked for a big kids party….hmmm. ME: “What’s a big kid’s party”?
LITTLE MAN: “You know mom, kids my own age, not any little kids”.
Well OK then, we’ll go with that! LOL
Anyway, we’re having him a Mario and Luigi themed party and I thought I’d show you guys some of the things I’m making for the big day! (If you’re one of my friends and your “big” kid is invited to the party, don’t let them look at my blog, it’ll spoil the fun!~….cause I know there are SO many 10 year olds out there that read my decorating blog! Ha!!!
I saw a picture of these lollipops on the internet and I just had to make them for the party! I can’t find where I got the idea, so if it was yours, please let me know! Wish I could take credit for it, but it was someone out in cyber world..but I did make them!
UPDATE! Thank you CoolPartyBlog.com for letting me know these came from your blog so I could give you the credit!! Yay! Here's the link to their original post.
TUTORIAL :
First I took some cream colored card stock and folded it over and cut out two ovals for each nose. I folded it so there would be two exactly the same for the next step.
Next, I “glued” the two circles together using a 3D adhesive Zot. If you don’t care about the 3D effect, you can just cut out one circle and hot glue it on for the nose.
Next, I cut out ovals from red cardstock and folded them like the photo below…..
Then I cut out the little shapes below and wrote either a capital M or L, for Mario or Luigi.
I also cut out cute little mustaches from black card stock as you can see on the lollipops.
I used this to adhere everything onto the lollipop, but you could use what ever adhesive you like. (hot glue would work great)
After everything is cut out and glued on, this is what you get! One Mario and one Luigi for each kid!
Aren’t they just the cutest things?!!
Stay tuned for more birthday party tutorials and fun…coming soon!
Hugs
