Now don't be offended if you have one of these in your house..... it's not that it's bad, it's just not me! I'm just not a big fan of brass or glass. (unless it's in the shape of a pretty, rainbow casting prism!) I have been waiting for quite some time to get this fixture down and today was the day!
I like the bare ceiling better than this fixture! LOL Have you ever seen a ladder this tall!! This is a two story open foyer and that thing almost reaches the ceiling!
Here are the two electricians putting up the "new to me" fixture. I got the light last summer at a garage sale for $35 bucks! It came out of a very pricey subdivision in a town near here......I like it when someone else pays big money for something and I get it cheap when they're tired of it! LOL I felt really bad for these guys....that fixture weighs about 40 pounds! They were making me a nervous wreck...........standing on a ladder two stories in the air holding a very awkward, 40 lb chandelier! I was SO glad when they finally got it up and were on the ground again!
Melissa.....It looks great! I really like the new chandelier and the price is too good to be true for something that large! Stop by and check out my new counter chairs. I would like your opinion. Have a great day!~Hugs, Patti
Wow, what a difference. I bet it looks beautiful with all those little prisms sparkling. Have a wonderful week. Patty
That is so beautiful. It looks so grand and elegant. And the price is unbelievable.
Divina la nueva lampara!!!! Me he enamorado de tu blog!!! Te he tomado el boton de enlace para mi blog!
Cuantas cosas lindas...
Your new chandelier looks great!!
Great find, Melissa~ it really goes well in the space...what a fabulous statement!
The guys are coming back tomorrow to fix my crooked light. :-) I told you I couldn't live with it like that! lol
Ya know Melissa, theres a name for such as that...It's called OCD!! You got it as bad as I do!! Love it!! Rhonda
Rhonda, you are so right, I def think I'm OCD! LOL I have come to embrace my OCD, it makes for a clean house. :-D
Vast improvement! And yes, I wouldn't have slept a wink either with the crooked light! It is hard to be a perfectionist, isn't it?
LOVE IT!!!!!! Great change!!! Aren't those tall ladders crazy?!?!
I love your new light fixture. It is beautiful and perfect for your foyer.
I love the new Chandy!!! In case you missed it, here is a post I did on my Chandeliers! I can't wait to explore your blog some more!
i came across this blog post http://www.dwellingsbydevore.com/2010/02/chandelier-reveal.html#comment-form & immediately thought of this post! i'm not for sure if it's the exact size chandelier as DeVore, but it would be cool if it was! =)
Beautiful! And what a great price. Did they have to put extra support in to hold it up? I have one to put up in my kitchen and I wondered if the weight would need additional support.
I hope this emails you to let you know there is another post on this older entry....you can make that old chandelier make pretty prisims in the sunlight. Simply cut out all the light fixture parts, leaving just the glass glove. You can attach any 'topper' with gorilla glue. Looks like the one there might work, you can paint out the gold...or if you put your new cloche out in the garden, it will weather on it's on. And this would make a beautiful cake cover, one of a kind. :-) I have some I've made on my blog/flickr...love them and anybody that sees them has really liked them too. Your home and blog are beautiful!
