Village Vignette

Hello my friends!
I'm joining in the Christmas Vignette linky party today with
So instead of my usual Treasures and Trinkets linky
party here this week, go link up your favorite Christmas vignette with Rhoda!
(we'll resume Treasures and Trinkets Thursday here next week)

I'm showing you guys my FAVORITE Christmas vignette today
and it's my
Christmas Village!
I put my village on my hoosier cabinet each year,
it's the perfect spot!

The house below is the one that started it all...
my little brother bought it for me, then my mom and I added to it
the collection too!
:)

This is my skating pond, the little people actually skate around
the pond as Christmas music plays.
I placed the little gazebo in the middle and luckily the skaters
don't run into it. :)

The pond makes the whole village because of all the movement and music.
Can you see Mr Snowman peeking through the gazebo?

What village is complete without a train station?...
looks like Santa caught a ride back to the North Pole on this train!~

I LOVE how all the lights are on inside the houses...
looks like it might be warm and cozy inside!

The little carolers look so festive in their
Christmas attire!

Here's the centerpiece of my village....
the reason for the season.
I wish I had a nativity scene to go in front of my church!
(but the little boy sledding is cute too!)

Looks like a blizzard hit the hotel!
LOL
I didn't realize the snow was this high until after I took the picture!
You can't even see the front door! :)

I'd love to go on a sleigh ride, but
we don't usually have enough snow...
nor do I have a team of horses and a sleigh!

The next two pictures REALLY
makes me want to go ice skating!

I found the little arbor that lights up after Christmas last year
for 50% off, I was a happy girl!

I use books to get all the different
levels for the houses...
gives it a more realistic feel!

One last looks at my village...
I just love it!

Hope you enjoyed my Village Vignette!
Don't forget to link up one of your favorite Christmas
Vignettes at Rhoda's!

Missy, it's so cute! I'm so envious of how you love to decorate. Even if I did a lot of decorating, this would not be the year. :)
I did do a lot of decorating when jamie was little.

Beautiful! I bought several starter villages a few years back and they are still in the box. How sad is that? I admire all the detail in yours!

Missy, how cute it is! I have a village too, but have gotten lazy about putting it up, it takes so long to do it all, so I left it in the attic this year. Love what you've done, those little villages are so pretty this time of year!

Hi Missy, What a darling little village! I love how you placed it on the hutch. It looks so cute there! My computer's harddrive went bye bye this past weekend and I had to buy a new one on Monday. I just got it today after I had all the info moved over. I am trying to learn and get the feel of this one. We had snow today! NOthing measurable but the grass was still white. Looks pretty with my outdoor lights!~Hugs, Patti

I love your village! You've done a wonderful job. It's nice that it's a family collection. It makes it more special that way. I've been wanting to get a train for my village too! It does add something special. I love the arbor with the Christmas Lights. The whole thing is gorgeous!

Your village is so charming, Missy! I think your hint about varying the heights really adds to the display!

I love Christmas villages. And yours is great. I usually put up one, but this year, I'm skipping it. Doesn't fit in with my color scheme. Maybe next year. Thanks for showing us yours.

How darling your village is! I love the skating rink! I just started my village this year, so far I have a toy shoppe, a house, a flower shop, a church and one I got at Joanne's which is called Antonio's Wine Shop. We have it under the tree and I'm looking forward to adding to it over the years!!!

Thanks for the tour of your village. I love it too. I love to sit and imagine what could be going on in my village. I'll post mine later - I'm babysitting a sick grandboy today. :(

I love your village and I love looking at everyones villages, I wish there was a linky party for just villages! lol
I want to start my own, I got one house at Goodwill although I am not sure if it is a dept. 56 one I need to dig it out of my closet and since i only have the one ill just put it somewhere random, I think I am going to start asking for a piece or two for christmas every year and ill go out for the after christmas sales and try to score some pieces.
I also really want the halloween villages and i think they have easter ones too, I LOVE the halloween ones!

Thank you for your comment! I have been seeing square wreaths everywhere and have been wanting to make my own and I have a TON of cardboard boxes laying around from our move so I decided to cut apart the smallest one and added some things to it.. I didnt have enough garland to go around so i grabbed some of the red garland.. I am not sure if i like it or not i wanted it all garland with just the red bow and the little red curly things I bought from walmart with the G somewhere on it, I didnt want it too cluttered but I needed something to hide the spaces but I do like how it turned out!
I think i might change the red out for silver after christmas until Valentines and see if i can grab up some silver glittery decorations after christmas on sale to add to it.
and as for my one village piece, I already have stuff under my tree so i am thinking about putting it on top of my two smaller book cases which are in the living room area. I dont care if its dept 56 or not itll still go with the rest of my collection whenever i get it started, I got it at Goodwill for $2!
I also collect Willow Tree firgurines, I only have 4 plus a little jewlery box makes 5, but I really want to start the nativity set so i might ask for a piece from that to get me started!

This is just so lovely! I have seen tons of these at the rummage sale and it makes me want to buy them the next time they have a rummage sale at the church here in town. :) They are so cute I want to start collecting them. :)

I will let you know once I get to make my own homemade detergent and see how it goes. This will surely save us money for laundry detergent. :) Thanks again!
