I Have a Plan……

Hey everyone!  Here’s the plan I drew up for my dining room wall where I’ll be turning this……

how to build a window seat

into this…..

how to build a window seat

A window seat with china cabinets on each side!!

Ok…just imagine my windows inserted under that arch and I drew too many drawers, but you get the idea.   I’m going to build it on this wall…

The top edge of the arched piece will sit right under the soffits on each side of the room so it will make a shelf across the top…where the top edge of the curtains are now.

This is a BIG project, but I think it’s gonna be great when it’s all done.  I can’t wait to get it completely finished, then I’ll start on the sewing.  There’s going to be a LOT of sewing involved…at least I think there will be, cause I’ll be making curtains, pillows etc.  I think I’m going to incorporate the fabric I used to reupholster these chairs in there.  If you’d like to see how I upholstered these chairs click HERE.

Ok, so that’s what the old set of drawers are going to be.
What do you all think….any ideas or suggestions for window treatments or anything else?  I’d love to hear your ideas!

Have a great weekend!!!

Hugs
Missy

Yes, it looks like a big project but you've got a good part of it already made for you, right? I think it will look beautiful on that wall and looking forward to seeing the work in progress.

I found your blog through Pinterest. That project picture looks really good, I can not wait to see it finished OH love the fabric on the chairs, too.

I am your newest (linky) follower. I would be so happy if you would follow me back.

Have a great weekend.

ooooo, I'm shivering with excitement!!!! I can hardly wait to see how beautiful this will be. When did you post about your chairs??? How did I miss the finished project???? I love them!!! I have no suggestions because you are way ahead of me in this department. I just want you to know that when I went with my hubby to Lowes last night, and saw a crystal shimmering light (kinda chandelier-ish, but a ceiling hugging light), I told him I wanted it to put in my laundry room....cuz yours is soooooo perty!!!!!! I'll be anxious to see each day as you progress on this project!
