Where I Put My Painting…

You all remember the lovely painting my friend Cindy painted me as a surprise?  Well, I finally figured out where I like it best.

rose oil painting

I placed it in my kitchen window, in front of my stained glass and under my chandelier.  I thought since I spend so much time in the kitchen, it would be a perfect place, and it is….I smile every time I go in the kitchen now.

Isn’t she lovely?! My kitchen wallpaper has the same pink/blush tones as the painting. I can’t tell you what it meant to me when I received this precious painting in the mail.  Do you know Cindy went through my blog looking at my house so she’d know what colors would match!  She is SO thoughtful!

So thanks again Cindy for my sweet little painting….she looks like she’s always belonged in my kitchen. :O)

I would like to frame her….but I’ve never framed a real painting on canvas before. Does anyone know how you do that?

I’ll soon have an update on my window seat!
HINT: I finally have it to the point where I can sit on it!   Yay!

Have a blessed week!

Missy,
Cindy's beautiful painting looks lovely on your kitchen window sill. (Although I'd be afraid someone would inevitably splash it in my house.) :/
Your kitchen and Cindy's paintings are magazine worthy.

Ohhhh, it looks beautiful there! I love it with all the cut glass and the sparkly chandelier. You put her in the most pretty, flattering spot, and i'm so tickled you love your little rose... you're such a sweetie. As far as framing, i rarely frame a canvas, i like them plain, or watch for an old chippy frame to come along. There are these little clips you can use to hold a canvas in a frame, and sometimes... shhhhhhh, don't tell, but i duct tape them in ! Can't wait to see the window seat...

Your painting is absolutely gorgeous, as is your kitchen... love that window AND the chandelier!! All the light surrounding the rose is just beautiful and really sets it off.

Just a frame. - no glass. If it is a standard size you can scout out thrift shops for a frame to paint (don't overlook frames with ugly stuff already in them, you can always throw the ugly away!), or watch for a sale or coupon at Hobby Lobby. I think it looks fine w/o a frame though.
