It’s My THIRD Year Bloggiversary!!

Hey ya’ll! :0)

As of February 4th, I have been blogging for THREE years!

anniversary

In some aspects, it doesn’t seem possible it could be three years since I started this blog, but as far as friends go, I feel like I’ve known some of you forever!! (and that would be forever in a good way!)
Smile

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who takes the time out to read what I have to do say, to see what project I’m doing, or to stop and pray for my family when “not so great” things are going on.  I can’t begin to tell you how much you mean to me.  You are SO special!

Since I’m on here, I thought I’d give you all a little update about my hubby’s surgery.  He had back surgery on Jan 22nd….it’s called anterior discectomy and fusion.  They basically made an incision about three inches long, on the front ride side of his neck.  They went in, through the neck, and pretty much took out the herniated disc, put in a bone and connected the two vertebrae together with a plate and screws.  We never dreamed it would be as difficult a recovery as it’s been, but praise God, he’s doing so much better now.  He had a terrible time swallowing, and would get choked on just about everything he ate…he even got strangled on his own saliva, but he’s not doing that as much now.  He is getting stronger everyday, and I want to thank you all for your wonderful positive energy, thoughts and prayers……..it has all been such a blessing!  I take him back to the doctor on February, 25th and hopefully they will say everything is perfect and he can go back to work. (although I have thoroughly enjoyed having him home with me!)    We will be having our 28th anniversary on Valentines day, and it will be nice having him home then!  Hopefully he’ll feel like getting out of the house for a nice dinner, but I don’t think there will be any dancing! lol  (not like we ever go when we are healthy either! ha!)
Smile

Just wanted to share what’s going on around here, and again, say thank you for reading my blog, and being my friend! I love you guys!

Blessings

I have a favor to ask!

pretty please

I have a favor to ask of all you guys!  You KNOW I love each and everyone of you and I ADORE when you leave me comments. (I mean REALLY adore it…like in a great big fuzzy teddy bear kind of way!) YOUR comments make MY DAY!  I just need you to do something for me if you’re comfortable with it.
Smile
You see, when you guys leave me comments, they go to my email…if I hit reply on my email, so I can talk to you, I get this….
noreply-comment@blogger.com
This means I can’t just type you a response….I have to dig around and look up your email addresses etc.  Some of you may not even know you’re noreplybloggers…I was and I didn’t realize it either!  By the way, this only applies to comments left by bloggers.  You can easily fix your norelycomment status by going to your dashboard and on the left side, click edit profile.

dashboard

When you get there, just check the box that says share my profile ….that’s it! Now when I hit reply on my emails, it will put in your email address instead of the noreplyblogger line.

profile edit page

I know this sounds silly, but it makes talking to you guys SO much easier…and you KNOW I love talking to all of you!!!

If you’re not comfortable doing this, don’t feel like you have to, I just figured some of you may not even know you are no reply bloggers…like I said, I didn’t realize I was either!
Thanks so much my friends!
Hope you have a wonderful, blessed day!

Hugs
Missy
EDIT: This is mainly for when I have already commented on your blog and then we have a conversation going back and forth..it's just so much easier to hit reply. :)  I do LOVE visiting your blogs and don't mean that I don't want to come visit you, when you visit me. Just sayin'. :)

I have a question

Hey guys, I have a question for you and this is the only way I know to ask everyone at once.  When I post a blog I subscribe to the comments so they'll come to my inbox.  I try to reply to every single one using the reply button on the subscribed email.  I had a dear friend ask me if I had received something she sent me and I had sent her an email about it using the reply button.  Now I'm wondering if any of you have not been receiving my replies to your comments.  Please let me know if you've gotten replies to the last couple of comments you've left.  I replied to all 37 on the built-ins post!! I'll be so sad if no one is getting them! :(
OH, also...is anyone else getting "server rejected" when they upload pics?  It keeps telling me to check to make sure there are no licensing issues. They're my pictures.. :-/  Any suggestions?

Hugs to you all!
Missy

PS... Carson's built-in's were featured on sweet Maryann's blog
Domestically Speaking today...ahhhh, wasn't that nice! :)

I WON! ....again!

I won another giveaway....
me, the girl who NEVER wins anything!
I have been very blessed in the past couple of months to win two!
The first one was my lovely original photography all framed up so pretty & nice from
the very sweet and talented, Robyn over at Whimages.blogspot.com.
You should go visit her, she's a sweetie pie!

 Now I have won another
lovely giveaway from Rhonda over at afistfullofweeds.blogspot.com.
This giveaway had everything rose in it and it was just lovely!
It was just chocked full of goodies, just wait till you see!

Here's my box.

Here's what was in my box.
:-)

Each item was wrapped up like a present with the prettiest hydrangea paper...
one of my all time favorite flowers!
(Rhonda, how did you know?!)
:)

So nice of her to make it feel like Christmas!

I opened these first...
Look at my lovely rose ornaments and little rose bouquet!
I put the little rose ornament in my sugar scuttle
and the ornament in the back under a little cloche... it magnifies the rose pattern..
so pretty!

Next I opened this wonderful book on antique roses
for the south...it's absolutely brimming with wonderful pictures
of Southern roses!
It's on my coffee table right now!

Next I opened this wonderful
Homer Laughlin plate...
isn't it spectacular!
It's on my dining room buffet now with all my other pretty plates. :)

This is the lovely stack of goodies all put together!
See the fabric?
It's actually a shower curtain that I turned into a table cloth
for my back patio..it's perfect!
(oh that's right, I haven't showed you guys
the round table I put on the patio!! lol)
The pink napkins in the pic matched some I already had,
but never had a enough of....
how much of a blessing was that!

Here's one last photo of all my goodies

I'm a very happy girl!
Thank you Rhonda, you made my day!

Blessings and Hugs

I have NO idea what I'm doing!

I have never blogged a day in my life, nor am I completely computer savy, but I thought this might be a fun thing to try. :) I guess I should start out by saying my name is Melissa and I am married to the most wonderful man in all the world! I have three beautiful children with unique personalities all their own. I'm one blessed gal! We live in a semi-small town in the lovely state of Kentucky. We own a two story home there and we've worked tirelessly to create a warm, cozy atmosphere for our family. We bought our home about 3 years ago and boy oh boy was it a mess. It had been repossessed by the bank and the previous owners made sure they took EVERYTHING that wasn't tied down. I'm talking EVERYTHING! There were no light fixtures or appliances (well except for the partially hanging microwave that they couldn't figure out how to get off the wall), no closet organizers........heck, they even took the light switch plates and outlet covers! lol We had our hands full. It has taken everyday of the three years we have been here to get it to the point where it is now, but it no longer looks like the shell of a house it once was. It now has new flooring, paint and it's filled with goodies I've found on shopping trips and it's decorated from corner to corner. Hey, we even have light fixtures and appliances......imagine that! I call our house our cottage and I get some pretty good laughs because it's not a typical cottage sized house....it's about 2200 sq feet. I guess that might be small to some, but it was big for us.....see we moved from a house of about 1000 sq feet.........which felt MUCH more like a cottage size. :) I have a wreath with a sign inside that says welcome to our cottage......that sign gets lots of chuckles........but to me our house is full of Cottage Charm and will always be the "little" cottage of our dreams.
