A gift I'll always treasure...that's why I'm making it my treasure for Treasures and Trinkets Thursday!

How many of you have had days that were just horrible?
I was having that kind of week last week..
ALL. WEEK. LONG.

I was in the middle of having one of those days
when I heard the doorbell ring.

Now, to get to my main story, I have to tell you a funny
story first.  I had ordered some priority boxes from
the post office for a future endeavor (you'll find out more about that later too!),
and had been waiting on them forever! I called the post office
to find out if maybe they were there and I hadn't been informed.
They said "no".  Hmm...maybe the order didn't go through I thought,
so I ordered them again.  Meanwhile, I get an email saying something
about them being held, so I called this number explained everything and they released my order.
???? who knows what the deal was????

Anyway, I told him I had placed another order to make sure
he canceled the first one.
Sooo....to make a long story short,
the day the door bell rang, I told Lincoln, my son,
to go get the door.  Well, I heard all this noise downstairs and
went to check it out.  He was standing there among
10 big boxes!!!
Oh, dear...it was the post lady, the post office sent BOTH orders of boxes!
So here I am going through all these stacks of boxes and
I'm getting a little frustrated, (remember I'm already having a bad day) when
all of a sudden I move a box and notice there's a box in there
that's a little different looking than the rest.

I look to see who it's addressed to and it's ME......
THEN I noticed who it was from and
I just sat down in the floor among all those
boxes to open it up and take a look.
This is what I found....

I promise you I almost cried when I saw it.
My sweet, sweet friend Deborah, from The Fairfield House
had sent me a gift.
She knows me so well..just look at those pink roses on that bag!
I took the bag out of the box and slowly opened up
the little card..  It simply said, "to Missy, Just Because."

I had not been touched so deeply in a long time and
I hadn't even looked in the bag yet!
But when I did open it, I found these.....

Does Deborah know me or what??!!
Pink dish towels and rose covered pot holders!
(See, I told you I was sitting in the floor...
I just yelled for one of my boys to bring me my
camera and I sat right there and started this post!)
:)

I ran right to the kitchen and took a picture
to show you guys just how wonderful they look in there!
See, they match my cookware and salt and pepper holders.
(actually, they match everything in my sweet little pink kitchen!)

Here's where they are now....

They will be living on the end of my island that
I love so much!

I have such wonderful and dear friends!
See the flowers on the island?
Another friend, here in my hometown,
knew I was having a rough week too
and sent me flowers the next day!
I am truly blessed.

Thank you Deborah, I appreciate your kindness
more than you'll ever know!

:0)

Hugs and Blessings!
Missy

How sweet of your friends! You know, I stopped working nearly 9 months ago and I'm finally getting to the point where OI feel like I clan slow down and focus on the important things in life. Like extended family. I've started visiting with grandmothers and taking them out to lunch. Dropping a card in the mail to them. It just really makes me feel great to know that I'm doing something good for someone. I think now would be a good time to branch out a little and send some little things to my out of town besties to let them know that I'm thinking about them. Thanks so much for posting this to let others know how happy you can make someone feel just by dropping a little something in the mail.

I hope a new month brings renewed energy and happiness into your life. The last weeks of August were challenging. How sweet to get a perfect gift and how funny for it to arrive with all the other boxes.

What sweet friends...How many times do we see something and say,"so and so would love that", what a nice reminder to send those random little gifts. You never know how much you might be blessing someone. Patty
