Cabinet update...

I have been working some more on my cabinets that I showed you here and here.
I cut some more particle board the exact size of the top of the cabinet and made tops for my cabinets, here you can see it with the top in place.

Okay now, here is the biggest thing I've been working on....this should give you a hint as to what I'm going to do with these old cabinets. :)

I built this.....

It's built out of particle board and backed with luan (a very thin plywood)

and now I'm going to trim it out with this trim....

Do you have a clue what I'm going to do with my cabinets now??
I'll give more of an update when I get some more done....
moving slow after all my graduation antics last week, but it was SO worth it!
:-)

Hope you guys have a great week!
Blessings
Melissa

Hmmm, an armoire maybe? Or a kitchen pantry area? I'm not sure but I know it will be gorgeous and can't wait to see the finished result:)

Ok....I am still in awe how good you are with wood. Did you take "shop" in high school? It looks like you are building some kind of armoire type cabinet? Hmmmmm...I guess I will have to wait for the big reveal! On another note, I just got an electric hand sander....I have that little coffee table I am going to try and reinvent. It has some large bubbles on top that looks like water damage. I hope I can sand them out. Thanks for coming over and checking out this week's haul! Have a good one!~Hugs, Patti

No one has gotten it right so far. :)
Patti, I did take shop in grade school, but all they taught me was how to make a cutting board! lol I just taught myself how to work with wood...it's really not that hard once you learn some of the tips of the trade and also conquer any fear of power tools! (they're only as scary as you let them be.) :) I LOVE to build things!!! (of course you all have probably figured that out already! lol)
I can't wait to get some more done on these and show you what I'm really doing with them. :) It'll be a few days before I can work on them again though, got some other stuff going on right now. Stay tuned though, I promise you'll like the end product! (at least I hope it turns out like I want it to!) :-o

Melissa,

I am just getting caught up with reading some of my favorite blogs over coffee.
I think you are making book shelves. I know how creative and clever you are!
It looks like you hosted quite a party to honor Lincoln's graduation. I am sitting here with tears running down my face after watching your video. Babies grow up too quickly!

Deborah
