Treasures and Trinkets Linky Party!!

Good morning my lovely peeps!  It’s time for my weekly link up party!  Link up your treasures or trinket for the week…it can be anything you love, a project you’re doing and so forth.

This is my treasure for the week…my beautiful fairy rose.  We had this type of rose growing on the fence when I was a little girl, so every time I see it blooming, I think of the house I grew up in on Finnel Pike.   The fence this rose grew on was down a little embankment in our front yard, and I would ride my bike around the house and, more times than not,  run into that fence.  I had more than one up close and personal meeting with that rose bush! It’s funny the things you remember most about the places you were raised.

Fairy Rose

So, two things today….What do you remember most about where you grew up and link up something to Treasures and Trinkets!

OH and one more thing, have a beautiful day!

I'm back...I finally remembered to become a follower too! I was looking at your laundry room remake and you do all the work yourself? It looks beautiful! I remember a beautiful flowering almond bush the neighbors had right next to our front yard. I loved those flowers. Your pink roses look similar and made me think of them. Thanks for hosting! (blogger is still on the fritz for me with comments so I'll have to be anonymous today wildrosevintage)

I think that's awesome that you are redoing the laundry room yourself. I try to do my own stuff too but I have never tackled a job like that! Great idea for my DH's hook! I never thought of that! For as little as he'll use it I could steal it for that and then he'd always know where it is :)
How funny that you just planted that bush. I put one in years ago but it's getting too much shade now and almost gone. I was thinking this spring that I need to pick up another one!
Have a great day!!!

I do not know why but thinking about my childhood brings back memories of the milkman and the mailman. Every kid in the neighborhood knew them. Each was always smiling and took time to joke with us, compliment a new bike, or a new hairdo. Service people are not like that today. Too much in a hurry. Most places can not get milk delivered today. Mail carriers are clocked on their route. No time to chat.

The roses are lovely. They look like the wild roses my grandmother used to grow on her garden fence.

I remember the wild roses blooming. They are the rusty red ones with a yellow shoot now and then. I moved a clump and mine turned out to be all yellow. And the smell...heavenly. I also rode a bike and remember riding it and falling off into the gravel. Ouch! ♥♫

Hi Missy! How are yi=ou feeling? that nasty bug finally leave your home? Love your roses. So pretty! Hum, a childhood memory? when I was a little girl there was a lilac tree right outside my window. I would patiently wait each year for it to bloom. Because I knew it only bloomed for a couple of weeks, I just knew the God made them bloom just for me and it was my special secret gift. To this day, lilacs are my favorite flower!

Hey Missy! I wasn't able to link up to your party today, but I did want to tell you how I love your roses. They are beautiful! Also thinking of a childhood memory, and since we do seem to be talking about flowers, I remember how I thought those purple creaping flocks (spelling ??) were the most beautiful flowers. I had a purple dress that was almost the same color and I loved to wear it because it lookied like those flowers. Blessings, Gail

Beautiful rose photo, Missy...and I loved hearing your memories! As a child my dad was in the Air Force and we moved a lot, so I had many homes...but I always remember periwinkles and zinnias growing!
