TREASURES AND TRINKETS THURSDAY!!!

I'm hosting my first ever Treasures & Trinkets Thursday! You can put your link below in the MckLinky...please use your exact url for the page you want to link up, not just your blog site address. Your Treasure needs to be something of your own, not off a website etc. :) It can be something you've made, re-purposed, or just something you love. Please put a link back to my page if you don't mind. :) Lets have fun looking at all the lovely things we all want to share! Here's mine.....

This is another one of my spring fever projects. :)

I got the bell jar (or cloche) and base on clearance from TJ Maxx (My FAVORITE store in the world!), it was only $12.00! The base was black when I got it, but I gave it a nice coat of an antique cream color to make it less jarring to the eye. (and to match my house!) lol

I found a basket at Michael's craft store that had all the nest looking material around the top...it was in bad shape so I got it for next to nothing. :) I think it was like $2.00 bucks! I took all the nest material off the top and made my own little bird nest out of it. (this is also the same stuff I used to make the nest on my spring wreath........gettin' a lot of use out of that $2.00 basket!)

I used some of the eggs that I had left from the wreath project and added them to the nest with some sweet little roses and a white dove. I added some moss, just to soften the look a bit.

Aren't the roses just the cutest! They are made of some sort of foam sheeting............very unusual! I'm still on the lookout for some of the handmade paper ones, but just haven't found any that I love, so I'm stickin' with these until I find the exact ones I have in my head. :)

Here's the finished product on my kitchen table, just waiting for the family to gather around for dinner. Guess I should go get cookin'! :) Hope you enjoyed my first Treasures & Trinkets Thursday and please particpate, it'll be fun!

I just posted this for Show & Tell Friday over at Cindy's My Romantic Home
Have a blessed day!

I'm just going CRAZY for SPRING to start! I'm totally in LOVE with your spring cloche...and what a thrifty idea too! That sweet dove just completes the look for sure...my youngest daughter has a sweet little Diamond Dove as a pet. She's just a lovely and charming dove grey bird and she makes the sweetest coo and will just sit on Peyton's shoulder.

OHHHH and thanks for INVITING ME...how sweet! I posted my kitchen even though I posted it last week...I'm just smitten with it compared to our oak we had, especially the open shelves...LOVE HAVING THEM!

Hi and thanks for inviting me. Does the McLinky go straight to the sign up for joining or do we have to register and try to link up?

Anyway, I'm just learning my new hobby, cross stitch, so I think my favorite treasure will be the monthly calendar I'm stitching. I've made other things but this is for ME.

I love your little bird nest. The little bird is so cute and I really love the flowers. I don't think that I've seen those before. This is a very sweet 'Springy' project that even I might could do! LOL Hopefully I can go to a Hobby Lobby or Michael's this week-end. I wish that we had one of them where I live! Well...maybe...I wouldn't have any money then! LOL

Have a great day and thanks for the invite to link to your 'Treasure Trove Thrusday'.

Hugs,
Lee Laurie

Parsley, you can hit the click here and it will take you to a page that has a sign up on it somewhere...then you can put in your link.

Lee Laurie, I'd be in BIG trouble if I lived too close to a Hobby Lobby or Michaels. The closest one is about 30 minutes away from me...that's a good thing! :)

Robyn, I love your cabinets, so glad you could link up! :)

How cute!! You are lucky to have found the cloche. I have such a hard time finding them. I have 3 total! And I love them. And I love how you painted the base white. Like the little nest and pretty bird. What a great job you did creating this!

I stumbled on your event. Maybe I'll be ready to join next week. You have a great blog!

SO precious! Nothing says spring like a nest and some eggs! I have a few lying around my house, too. THanks for stopping by the blog and for your sweet comment about my kids. I think they're pretty cute, too. :)

Wow! You did a fantastic job. Sometimes I never can be creative enough to think about buying something brand new and then redoing it, such as the white paint on the base. I wouldn't have bought it, just because it was black, but you had the forethought to realize that all you had to do was paint it white and it would look good in your house. You girls are always inspiring me! Sorry that I was late on your Thurday deal, but I joined anyway. LOL
